Provides acupuncture treatments in an outpatient medical setting to patients experiencing a variety of health conditions. This position will be caring for patients using a team model of care. This position will be expected to practice acupuncture based upon traditional oriental medical theories to improve and maintain health through the stimulation to acupuncture points and channels by the use of needles, manual stimulation, and electrical stimulation.Work Experience:3 years of experience with acupuncture required

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

Licensed to practice acupuncture in the state of MN

Current certification with the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Director of Integrative Health, provide acupuncture treatments in an outpatient medical setting to patients experiencing a variety of health conditions. You will be caring for patients in our Integrative Health Department using a team model of care. You will be expected to practice acupuncture based upon Traditional East Asian Medicine theories to improve and maintain health through the stimulation to acupuncture points and channels by the use of needles, manual stimulation, and electrical stimulation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Utilize clinical history taking and diagnostic skills based on standard techniques;
• Provide medically necessary acupuncture with and without electrical stimulation as indicated;
• Provide quality treatment to improve medical conditions related to patients’ concerns;
• Utilize additional techniques considered to be standard in the MN scope of practice as time and resources allow;
• Document history, diagnosis and treatment in electronic medical record (EPIC)
• Uphold Essentia Health’s mission, vision, values and ethical standards and demonstrate the behavioral and service expectations as defined in our policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements):

EDUCATION:

Master’s degree in Acupuncture or Traditional East Asian Medicine At least 3 years of experience after training required

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Current licensure to practice acupuncture in the state of MN. Current NCCCAOM Certification Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
