Position : Job Captain

Pay Range: $26.00 - $36.00 per hour

Job Location: Costa Mesa, CA In-Office/ No remote opportunities

Schedule : 8:00am to 5:00pm M-F

Overview:

Robinson Hill Architecture, Inc., is currently looking to hire a Job Captain with commercial knowledge and experience in retail, restaurant, and hospitality. The ideal candidate will be proficient in developing construction documents and knowledge of ADA & building codes. Will be able to adapt to the office culture, and be able to communicate clearly with the team. Ability to solve technical problems with limited supervision from the Project Manager & Principal Architect. Able to create construction packages with limited supervision, demonstrate consistency in production, reliable organizational behavior, & clear interpersonal communication skills. Responsibilities: Delegate tasks to draftsperson, construction administrative duties, assisting Project Manager in preparing design development and construction packages, project drawing documentation of elevations and details, city submittals, and coordinating with consultants as needed. Other duties assigned by the Project Manager or Principal Architect.

Skills & Knowledge

• Must be proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, & 3D Rendering
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Knowledge of California Building Codes, Code research knowhow
• Knowledge of Title 24 Code Compliance, Code research knowhow
• Ability to complete ADA Survey
• Able to communicate effectively with consultants, clients, and jurisdictions.
• High level of organization and attention to detail, complete tasks
• At least 5+ years of work experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Equivalent Work Experience
• Multitasker – be able to work on and track multiple tasks / projects
• Ability to organize & prepare documents from Design Packages to Construction Documents
• Ability to fill in the gaps, think critically, see what else is affected by the task at hand
• Ability to generate accurate building plans and sections for all construction types.
• Ability to detail conventional construction
• Understand consultant scope of work responsibilities
• Ability to address plan check corrections without PM involvement
• Able to prepare Occupancy Load, Area, Exiting, LOD plans as well as Plumbing Calculations
