for pay scales and benefits information. Pocahontas County Adminstrative Salary Schedule, commensurate with experience and educational level, plus $9,000 supplement. Perform duties as described in the job description below.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Possess knowledge of school law, state policy and federal education law and policy.
- Possess proficiencey in the use of technology for effective school management.including WVEIS, Windows and internet.
- Share evaluation of staff with principal.
- Coordinate the 9-12 athletic program in collaboration with principal and coaches toascertain p0rogram needs on an annual basis, as well as prior to each season to ensure consistency of program.
- Lead the recruitment an selection of coaches and make employment recommendations to the building Principal.
- Provide orientation to all coaches and track completion of all training requirements.
- Ensure that all WVSSAC and licensure requirements are met annually.
- Supervise, evaluate or provide feedback for the evaluation of coaches at the high school.
- Schedule practice times and areas to be used as appropriate. Monitor all athletic facilities.
- Schedule all high school athletic contests, issue contracts for the contest., and maintain the proper and necessary records.
- Contact local media, as needed, to ensure that all upcoming events, cnacellations, and special athletic events are made known to the public. Use of social media should be utilized as well.
- Ensure officials and game management personnel are scheduled (may work in conjunction with sport-specific officials scheduler) and contracts are issued for all contests. Maintain an active file of officiaols under contract and pay officials following the contest. Ensure officials are notified of any game / scrimmage cancellations.
- Ensure Board -hired ticket takers or school designee are scheduled for all contests and ensure appoicable pay authorizations are filed in a timely manner.
- Ensure the completion of a ticket sale report form following each home contest and ensure that the monies collected are counted, verified and properly deposited.
- Schedule security and medical personnel as needed or required for athletic events.
- Arrange transportation for all away contests (either bus or private transport aligned with Board policy).
- Attend all required conference and WVSSAC training activities.
- Establish and maintain open communication by conducting parents, students, teachers, and coaches to support student learning and athletic success.
- Demonstrate instructional leadership to enhance school effectiveness by improving instruction.
- Knowledgeable in high school curriculum.
- Knowledgeable in county, state, and federal policies.
- Act as principal designee when principal is not in attendance at school or school related functions.
- Work cooperatlively and effectively with others as a member of an education team.
- Perform duties as assigned by principal.
Term of Employment: Effective for the 2025-2026 school year and shall be for 220 days each year thereafter.
