Summary:

The Warehouse Assistant Manager will be responsible of the oversight for the Distribution center, including but not limited to daily operations of the warehouse, including Receiving, Picking/Packing, Returns/Refurbishing, Stock keeping, and Shipping, Inventory Control/Cycle Counts. Manage a staff of 4 Supervisors (Picking/Packing, Returns/Refurbishing, VAS and Shipping) and up to 50 employees.

The ideal candidate will ensure that all processes and procedures are compliant with the company and legal distribution guidelines. The ideal candidate will be able to develop methodology to capture KPI’s, report those metrics accurately and in a timely manner. This candidate will work hand in hand with the customer service team to clarify order information and get to the root cause of issues.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Timely receipt of inbound freight.
• Responsible for supervising all Warehouse staff and the overall daily management of a designated shift.
• Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees.
• Provide daily feedback on actual performance against standards
• Responsibility for the payroll, day to day operations and escalation of issues in the absence of the Warehouse Manager
• Coordinate activities of associates in the packaging and labeling processes in an effective and efficient manner to satisfy internal and external customer service
• Manage an inventory valued in excess of $20M.
• Cycle Counting.
• Wave Processing.
• Maintain customer commitment for order processing.
• Returns/Refurbishing overview.
• Shipping/Receiving overview.
• Employee productivity.
• Employee Counseling.
• Distribution Center Housekeeping.
• Employee safety.
• Coordination of orders with Customer Service.

Education: Associate Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management OR Management is preferred.

Experience & Background:

• Minimum of 5 years Distribution Center experience.

• Warehouse Management experience is required.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Lean or Six Sigma certification is preferred.

• The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

• Bilingual English- Spanish strongly recommended

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Analytical skills and advanced Excel experience is preferred.

• Ability to work with all levels of management.

• Ability to control and direct all warehouse functions through a warehouse management system is essential .

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

• physical demands for this job require one to walk, stand, sit, enter data into a computer, use a hand jack, operate a hi low, and lift cartons not in excess of 40 lbs.
• work environment for this job is a warehouse setting with moderate noise and excellent lighting.
