NC FAST requires a Senior Enterprise Network Engineer to provide networking and firewall rule support for application connectivity in Hybrid environment.
The NC Department of Health and Human Services seeks a highly technical contract resource for NC FAST (Families Accessing Services through Technology). This position will serve as an Network Engineer to support applications hosted in the cloud (AWS/Azure) and on-Prem.
Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
• Troubleshooting cloud infrastructure issues related to networking and security.
• Create firewall rules for environments.
• Assist the Operations and cloud team as requested.
• Maintain and keep track of all technical duties related to cloud networking such as design, implementation, and support.
• Manage, monitor, troubleshoot and resolve network performance issues: utilization/throughput, slowness, and unexpected latency.

Extensive hands-on experience with Palo Alto VM Series firewall and Panorama configuration and optimization

Experience with routers, routing protocols, transit gateways, load balancing, and overall cloud networking, including VPCs, subnets, routes, securit

Experience with security best practices and implementing security controls in a AWS cloud environment.

Experience with VPN technologies to include IPsec and SSL technologies.

Ability to work on large TCP/IP networks, design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
