Position: Machine Operator
Location: Richmond, VA
Compensation: $24.75 – $27.00/hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday (overtime as needed) – 2nd Shift
SUMMARY:
The Machine Operator is a full-time position responsible for safely operating and maintaining metalworking machinery, including CNC, Fin Punch Press, and Expander equipment. This position requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Operate CNC, Fin Punch Press, and/or Expander equipment to produce quality parts
• Read and interpret blueprints and router information to set up machines and tooling accurately
• Perform daily preventive maintenance on machinery
• Use measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures to ensure accuracy
• Safely operate electric, pneumatic, floor, and hand tools
• Identify and tag unsafe equipment immediately
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, productivity, and tooling performance
Job Tasks / Functions:
• Set up and operate various metalworking machines
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and adjust equipment as needed
• Monitor part quality and make necessary adjustments
• Maintain clean and safe working conditions
• Communicate with team members and leadership to ensure production goals are met
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
• Proven mechanical aptitude
• Experience working with mechanical equipment
• Ability to use measurement tools (calipers, tape measures, etc.)
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Able to sit/stand for long periods, bend, and stoop as needed
• Available to work 2nd shift
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with CNC, Fin Punch Press, and/or Expander equipment
• Background in machinery troubleshooting
• Ability to interpret drawings, routers, and special instructions (once trained)
Work Environment:
• Fast-paced manufacturing setting with physical demands and machine operation
• Required use of PPE and adherence to all safety protocols
