Job Description

The Dietary Aide plays a crucial role in supporting the Dietary Department by performing essential work and cleaning routines. This position is available for both full-time and part-time schedules. Responsibilities include:

• Carrying out defined work routines with various dietary utensils, supplies, and equipment.
• Assisting the cook in meal preparation and service.
• Ensuring timely meal and snack service.
• Executing cleaning schedules and performing assigned cleaning duties diligently.
• Helping with the preparation and serving of snacks, salads, and desserts.
• Setting up the dining area and serving patients during meal times.
• Conducting basic cleaning tasks in the kitchen.
• Assisting in receiving and storing food supplies safely.
• Completing side work and other opening/closing responsibilities.
• Participating in departmental and in-service educational programs.
• Adhering to safety codes while performing all duties.
• Following sanitation and safety guidelines at all times.
• Schedule is Friday, Sunday and Monday from 9:00a - 7:30p

Requirements

• Entry level position - training will be provided.
• Preferred: experience in food service within a healthcare setting.
• Must possess or be in the process of obtaining a valid Nevada Food Handler Certification.
• Basic understanding of food service practices and nutrition.
• Ability to create appealing food combinations that enhance menu variety.
• Knowledge of safe food handling techniques is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
• Capable of working in varying environmental temperatures and settings.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and co-workers.
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Note: Pre-employment drug screening is required upon job offer.
