Key Responsibilities:

• Exemplary Practice: Perform the Nursing Process to deliver individualized, evidence-based perioperative care in the circulating role.
• Provide relationship-based, culturally competent care, maintaining the patient’s goals as the focus.
• Teamwork & Collaboration: Coordinate and document safe, quality patient care within the OR.
• Foster a respectful, inclusive environment through interdisciplinary communication and active participation in shared governance.
• Professional Development: Complete all required competency assessments and education.
• Serve as a preceptor or mentor to develop the future surgical nursing workforce.
• Evidence-Based Practice & Research: Promote and participate in performance improvement and nursing research.
• Uphold all organizational policies and accreditation standards (e.g., TJC Patient Safety Goals).
• Resources and Support: Proactively plan for patient care across the continuum.
• Participate in developing surgical protocols to achieve best-practice outcomes and ensure efficient resource utilization.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Must have skills :Current RN license (Georgia or Compact State)
• Current BLS certification (required upon hire)
• Minimum 5 years of direct patient care nursing experience
• Proven experience as a Circulating RN in an Operating Room
• Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing is required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is strongly preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: -Current RN License in the State of Georgia or a Multi-State Compact License.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required upon hire.
• Minimum 5 years of direct patient care nursing experience is required.
• Substantial experience as a Circulating RN in an Operating Room is essential.
• Skills: Expertise in perioperative nursing standards and the circulating role.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong critical thinking, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Commitment to patient safety, aseptic technique, and quality improvement.
