Full time, permanent Farm Hand needed in Valdosta, GA
Duties will include routine property maintenance such as mowing, mending fences, landscaping, handyman work, farm errands, etc. Routine duties will require the ability to drive tractors, forklifts, zero turn lawnmowers. Prefer CDL license for pulling trailer with farm tractor or horse trailer – not required.
Mandatory Hiring Requirements: References, Background Check, Drug Screen Testing, Valid Driver’s License.
Position Requirements: - License: Commercial Driver’s License Class “A” preferred.
- DOT Medical Certificate according to the requirements in 49 CFR 391.41-49 if a Class A Driver's license is held.
- Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: Some equipment operator experience is required (tractors and backhoes). Wildlife Management experience preferred.
Working Conditions: - Job requires working in all weather elements; heat, cold, rain, or snow, depending on time of year.
- Must wear all personal protective equipment as required
- Must be able to regularly work 30 hours per week plus overtime as required. Occasional weekend work may be required.
Required Physical/Mental Functions: - Must be able to safely operate farm equipment (tractor, forklift, etc.).
- Capable of using of hand tools or power equipment.
- Comprehend and practice safe work procedures.
- Operate company truck(s) with manual and automatic transmission.
- Must hear and see well (either natural or with correction).
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
- Able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Tolerant to prolonged standing and movement on foot.
- Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
