Job Description
As a GIS Technician on our Construction Administration and Management team, you will aid our construction managers using ESRI's suite of products to collect and manage data from ongoing construction projects. You will use your experience and proficiency as a data analyst with ESRI software (ArcGIS Desktop & Pro) and skills AutoCAD. You will review and manipulate data, perform in-depth analysis, and provide compelling visualizations to aid in construction projects.
Olsson provides construction management, administration, and observation services for both public and private projects to ensure that work is performed in conformance with project documents. Our construction services include daily observation / inspection, project documentation, submittal review, design support, shop drawing review, payment application review, payroll review, and oversight for materials testing. We provide technically qualified personnel for our clients' specific project (utility, transportation, water, and industrial) requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Participates in the development of GIS and CAD databases to support the construction administration team with a range of projects.
• Maintains maps, digitizing data collected from construction projects including utilities, earthwork, paving, and other data.
• Performs duties and troubleshooting by assisting team members in data collection using ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, Trimble Access, and other software.
• Good knowledge of the general principles of GIS (Geographic Information Systems), CAD (Computer Aided Design) and Trimble Business Center.
• Ability to work independently on requests for geographic information, prepare and interpret data in a range of digital formats.
