Grinder / Polisher (Metal Finishing) - Akron, Ohio - JOB 25-01399 Salary Range: $20.00 - $30.00/HR Permanent Position with Benefits Akron, Ohio Manufacturer seeks a Grinder / Polisher who is familiar with reworking / repair, polishing and finishing various types of Feed Screws. The Candidate will work under the direct supervision of the production supervisor to learn various aspects of the machine trade to excel in metal finishing. Utilize this knowledge to excel in metal finishing. REQUIREMENTS: High School, GED, Vocational / Technical School (Machinist Training Preferred) and/or Higher Level Education with a minimum of one year of hands-on experience working as a machinist. Candidates must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Candidates must be able to read and interpret blueprints, follow both verbal and written work instructions, follow all safety procedures & rules in the operation and maintenance of manufacturing machinery to include lathes, mills, grinders and other support equipment. Candidates must have the ability to use micrometers and other measuring equipment to accurately check dimensions. Preferred Candidates would have experience with operating manual OD grinders, surface grinders, root grinding, and final belt polishing (color buffing) equipment for extrusion screws. Experience polishing dies and other parts besides feed screws is a plus! Preferred Candidates would have direct experience inspecting & evaluating feed screws for rework. Able to describe work scope and submit detailed information to estimating. Lesser experienced Candidates will 'Train' with existing production personnel to learn the "art” of metal finishing and polishing. Candidates are required to pass a Criminal Background Check and a 10 Panel Drug Screen. Only U.S. Citizens or persons with a Green Card work permit may apply.
