Rancho BioSciences is seeking a technical Project Manager located in the East Coast region working remotely. This position is a Part-time temporary position with possibilities to be extended to a Full-Time position.

What You'll Do

Rancho Biosciences is seeking an experienced technical project manager with the ability and proven track record to successfully manage multiple development projects within a fast-paced, matrix team environment. Prior experience in a customer facing role and a solid background in life sciences is required. This position is a unique opportunity for an individual to make a real impact on human health alongside our team of computer scientists, curators, computational biologists and biostatisticians.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage 10-15 concurrent scientific projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery of client objectives.
  • Tailor project management methodologies (Waterfall, Scrum, Agile) to suit the unique needs of each project, balancing scientific rigor with flexible, client-focused execution.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining key milestones, timelines, and deliverables in alignment with client objectives and Rancho Biosciences' strategic goals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships through proactive communication, clear updates, and managing expectations.
  • Provide strategic leadership to project teams, which may include scientists, bioinformaticians, and data analysts, aligning team efforts with project goals and client needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, to ensure seamless project execution and resource alignment.
  • Translate complex scientific concepts and project details into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Drive regular project reviews and progress reports, identifying risks and opportunities to keep projects on track.
  • Cultivate a culture of collaboration and open communication within the project teams, ensuring alignment and knowledge sharing.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize project workflows and enhance efficiency while maintaining high scientific and operational standards.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the scientific landscape relevant to client projects and Rancho Biosciences' service offerings, using this knowledge to guide project direction and client interactions.
  • Ensure adherence to project budgets and timelines, providing updates on scope changes or challenges as they arise.

What We're Looking For

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, clinical sciences or a related field
  • 3 years Project Management experience
  • Ability to lead developers, manage Jira and run Scrum sessions
  • Strong life sciences background and experience with data management projects
  • Detail-oriented and well organized, with an ability to track multiple project budgets and deadlines concurrently
  • Amazing communication skills and attention to detail
  • Strong leadership skills; ability to influence multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience with development, annotation and/or curation
  • Independently driven and hard working
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Desirable but not required: PMP, Certificates in Project management, Leadership courses, Certified Scrum Master
