Title : Psychiatrist / Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Part time)

Age range of patients : Birth- 21

Locations : Yonkers & Bronx, NY (under work environment)

Hours : 16–20 hours/week | After-school/evening hours required (latest 8pm)

Salary : NP – $110/hour (client has flexibility for the right candidate)

About the Role

Client is seeking a Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join their Behavioral Health team on a per diem basis. This role will provide in-person psychiatric services to adolescents in our Residential Treatment Center in Yonkers and children and adolescents in foster care at our Bronx clinic location. The ideal candidate will bring experience with adolescent populations, a commitment to holistic care, and a passion for helping underserved communities.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and crisis interventions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, person-centered care.
• Ensure timely and thorough documentation in multiple EMR systems (MDLand for Psychiatry; Netsmart/MyEvolv for general care).
• Help reduce polypharmacy and utilize least-restrictive medication approaches.
• Provide backup coverage for other psychiatric providers as needed.
• Engage with a highly involved patient base—youth placed via school districts and foster care programs.

Qualifications

• MD or Psychiatric NP in good standing with an active NY license.
• Must hold DEA certification and be eligible to prescribe controlled substances.
• Experience treating adolescent populations is required.
• Medicaid provider experience strongly preferred.
• Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
• Open to new graduates with strong clinical training and a desire to grow in the field.
• Proficient in EMR usage; experience with MDLand and Netsmart is ideal.

Work Environment

• In-person position with assigned days at:
• Yonkers Site: Yonkers, NY 10705
• Bronx Site: Bronx, NY 10455

Schedule : 2 days in Yonkers, 1 day in the Bronx.

Evening availability required, latest shift ending no later than 8 PM (earlier end time preferred at Bronx site for safety).

Not open on Saturdays—but highly interested in candidates who would consider Saturday shifts.
