How you'll contribute

A RN Clinical Documentation Specialist who excels in this role:

• Possess leadership skills that demonstrates an ability to motivate and coach others.
• Must be able to carry out the mission and vision of the organization.
• Must have the ability to remain calm and make leadership decisions in chaotic and/or stressful situations.
• Must possess the ability to understand nursing documentation, standards of care, regulatory compliance and nursing/clinical work flow.
• Must possess a desire and the ability to teach computer skills to others working in a clinical capacity.
• Consulting and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide care to patients.
• Consulting and collaborating with other nurse leaders to enhance the performance of clinical care providers.
• Must possess basic computer skills and be flexible and willing to learn a variety of computer systems.
• Providing clinical nurses, physicians, patients and family education related to computer modalities, functions, capabilities, etc. as indicated.
• The ability and willingness to follow established Standards of Performance.

What we're looking for

• Education: Associate's degree in nursing required. BSN preferred.
• Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Minimum Work Experience: Three years of clinical work experience required.
• Licenses: Must be a licensed Registered Nurse with the State of Tennessee or a licensed Registered Nurse from a Compact State with the proper Tennessee paperwork filed within 30 days of hire. One of the following is preferred - Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist - Physician-base (CCS-P), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)

STRHS-Lawrenceburg, formerly Crockett Hospital, is a 99-bed, acute care facility located in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, 85 miles south of Nashville.

We have been providing the best healthcare in Lawrence County and surrounding counties in Southern Middle Tennessee since 1974. We expanded the facility and services in 1991 with the addition of an Outpatient Surgery Unit, a state-of-the-art 24-hour physician-staffed Emergency Department, and an Intensive Care Unit. The hospital opened a 10-bed Physical Rehabilitation Unit in 1997, and a Women's Health Center in 1999. Diagnostic imaging services include in-house MRI, Nuclear Medicine, CT, X-ray, Digital Mammography and Ultrasound. The Rehabilitation Unit provides Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies. In 2009, a $5.6 million construction was completed which expanded the Emergency Department, Outpatient Surgery Unit and Registration area.
