Job Summary and Qualifications Directs and manages the operations and activities of the 3 Central and 3 North Telemetry Units. Responsible for the overall management of the department's daily operations to achieve quality improvement, fiscal, productivity, and patient satisfaction goals and objectives established by upper management. Responsible for staff performance and the accomplishment of departmental responsibilities in accordance with corporate, hospital, department, and safety policies and procedures to meet both company and regulatory requirements. Responsible for providing high-quality patient care to and acting liaison with patients and their representatives, physicians, and employees. Responsible for the efficient operation of the department and optimum use of resources to maximize productivity and minimize costs.
The Department Director assumes the role as the leader in planning, directing and managing the department and staff to assure quality service on a 24 hour basis. The Department Manager is responsible for meeting JCAHO Standards, complying with corporate policy and procedures, for managing supplies and equipment on the unit, for promoting teamwork with physicians and all health care providers, for promoting internal and external customer satisfaction, and for appropriate resource management.
What qualifications you will need: - Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Nursing Management in an acute care hospital setting
- Minimum 3 years of Med Surg, Telemetry, or Progressive Care clinical nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting
HCA Florida Palms West Hospital is a 204-bed facility in Palm Beach County. We offer preventative and elective programs and surgeries. We are an Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Primary Stroke Center. HCA Florida Palms West Hospital has emergency services, a dedicated New Life Center and a Level II NICU. We have a full-service Children's Hospital. Services include outpatient rehabilitation, an aquatics center, orthopedic spine center, robotics, and interventional radiology. HCA Florida Palms West Hospital is located on a 94-acre campus in Palm Beach County. The surrounding areas include Wellington, Royal Palm Beach and Loxahatchee.
