Position Summary Responsible for overseeing employees and directing operations of Hearing Center and other areas of the warehouse. Addresses personnel issues and oversees tasks performed by employees. Participates in Licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser duties. Responsible for understanding, teaching, and maintaining our culture, core values and ethics. This is a full-time leadership position. Job Duties/Essential Functions · INTEGRITY: When achieving benchmarks and goals, use methods/strategies that are consistent with the Code of Ethics and the Standard of Ethics for Managers and Supervisors. Appropriately handles employee concerns and follows through to resolution. · MERCHANDISING & INVENTORY: Uses all information available to ensure efficiency and productivity (e.g. , inventory levels, daily sales, receivings, hot sheets, etc. ). Ensures consistency of Showtime Ready merchandising standards throughout location. Awareness and appropriate communication of out-of-stocks and potential D&D issues. · MEMBER SERVICE: Ensures an exceptional member experience (e.g. , clean parking lot, carts available and clean, greeted at door, etc. ). Ensures building is properly maintained throughout the entire day - fresh areas, front end, parking lot, clothing, produce, etc. · ADMINISTRATION: Review schedules for department, verifying proper coverage and that it meets provided budget/planner. Understands P&L statement, researches and explain budget variances. · MANAGING PERFORMANCE: Organizes and executes complex projects (hearing tests, hearing aid fittings, etc. ). Delegates when necessary, takes charge when appropriate. Ensures employees understand why they are asked to do what they do (not “because I told you so”) i.e. , teaching about the business. · COMMUNICATION: Regularly shares information with employees via splinter meetings and one-on-one conversations. Successfully navigates difficult conversations with employees and members. Listens, expresses empathy and adapts to get the point across. Addresses issues immediately to ensure a timely resolution and to avoid escalation of the situation. Demonstrates business knowledge during interactions with senior management. · SELF-MANAGEMENT: Demonstrates sound judgement, taking a partner when necessary. Displays self-control and professional demeanor in the face of hostility or provocation or in intense, hectic situations. · INCLUSION: Encourages different approaches and ideas to work and to accomplish goals. Seeks employee input. Takes the time to get to know or reach out to candidates who show potential that may not come forward on their own. · COMPLIANCE AND SAFETY: Executes thorough self-audits as required and communicates findings to AGM and GM. information is kept confidential and adheres to IS security policy. Takes measures to ensure employee and member Examines and evaluates facility and equipment conditions to identify needed repairs or potential safety issues. · Schedules, develops, counsels, trains, and directs department personnel. Reviews and approves area timecards. Drafts and participates in presentation of employee performance appraisals. Oversees apprentices as required for certification qualification. Attends and participates in Staff Meetings.
Oversees and participates in duties of Licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser. Uses equipment located within the department to conduct testing and ear impressions in a manner which is safe to the member and consistent with a passing score on the ‘Ear Impression Certification Exam’. Completes hearing evaluations, makes product recommendations, takes ear impressions, orders product, delivers and makes programming adjusts to hearing devices, and maintains member’s digital file in the office management system. Rings orders and collects payment when necessary. · Provides and ensures prompt and courteous member service. Responds to member concerns using problem solving skills, tact and discretion. Overrides and checks cash register codes, approves refunds · Mentors employees enrolled in the Hearing Aid Apprentice Program (HAAP). Provides mentoring and hands on training that aligns with the HAAP curriculum. Follows Costco’s training guidelines and reviews opportunities and successes with apprentice each week. · Observes employee performance and paperwork to ensure that department procedures and standards are followed for scheduling, testing and fitting protocols, record keeping, merchandising, inventory control, product storage, and cash handling. Implements and upholds safety and security procedures. Ensures all minimum licensing requirements are satisfied and maintained. · Reviews department budget, financial statements, and submits insurance payment records. Develops and implements plans for merchandising, productivity, profitability, and Hearing Aid benchmark performance. · Approves and submits orders for equipment, product, and supplies. · Coordinates proper maintenance and repairs for machinery and equipment. · Upholds safety and security procedures consisting of identifying trip hazards, ensuring proper PPE, ensuring cleanliness of the department. Ensures proper procedures for cleaning and infection control are implemented. Coordinates proper equipment maintenance, repairs, and replacements. · Performs off-site marketing to increase sales. · Ensures proper procedures for cleaning and infection control are implemented. · Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials. · Travels by air and ground transportation, including some weekends, as business needs require, to assist other hearing aid departments. · Regular and reliable attendance at your assigned location. Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery · Computer, phone, fax, copier, cash register, hand-held scanners, audiometer, probe microphone measurement equipment, manual and video otoscopes, hearing instrument test box, impression gun and/or syringe, hearing aids & accessories, hearing aid modification & maintenance equipment Non-Essential Functions · Assists with front end duties as necessary.

Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery · Cash register, tabletop/handheld scanners, carts, flatbeds, trash compactor, bailer Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications Required: · Hearing Aid Dispenser or Audiologist License or Registration as required by state law. · Costco Ear Impression Certification demonstrating a passing score on written and practical tests. · Hazard Communication and JHA (initial assignment), Professionals HIPAA Training (prior to working in department), Costco Hazardous Materials DOT Training Course: Part 1 (within 30 days and then every year), Costco Hazardous Materials DOT Training Course: Part 2 (within 30 days and then every year), Ear Impression Certification: Written & Practical (within 30 days), Audiometric Evaluation & Fitting Protocol Acknowledgement (prior to working in department and then every year), Health Center FCRA (prior to working in department), Hazmat Universal Waste Training- Short Version (within 30 days and then every year), Option STOP Training (within 30 days), any additional certifications or training as required by department. · Must be current on annual safety training within 30 days of hire. Recommended: · High School Diploma or GED preferred. · Driver’s License preferred · Management experience preferred. · Computer, math, and customer service skills preferred. · Strong organizational and time management skills. · Positive, mature professional attitude. · Proficiency with AS400, Office Management.
