Overview Job Title: Podiatrist Status: Part-Time Department: Medical Reports to: Chief Medical Officer Schedule: 1-3 days (8-hours shift) Position Summary: The Podiatrist provides diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care for conditions affecting the feet, ankles, and lower legs. This role delivers high-quality, compassionate, and efficient podiatric care in collaboration with multidisciplinary clinical teams, fully aligning with the mission and values of Clinica Romero. Podiatry care may require coverage at multiple clinic sites based on medical necessity or a rotating schedule. The Podiatrist is expected to uphold these mission and values in all aspects of patient care and professional conduct. Responsibilities Provide direct, comprehensive podiatric medical services to patients, maintaining high standards of clinical care and professionalism. Examine, diagnose, and treat diseases, deformities, and injuries of the foot, ankle, and lower leg using appropriate medical, surgical, and therapeutic techniques. Prescribe and manage orthotics, assistive devices, pain relief medications, and topical treatments. Treat sports-related injuries, including sprains, fractures, and overuse conditions, and provide rehabilitative guidance. Educate patients on foot hygiene, preventative care, therapeutic techniques, and post-treatment maintenance. Maintain complete and timely documentation in patient records in compliance with medical practice and regulatory standards. Collaborate with internal and external medical providers to coordinate patient care and refer cases requiring specialized or surgical intervention. Collaborate with the QI Director on quality measure goals, benchmarks, and all other requirements related to podiatry care. Ensure urgent care needs are addressed promptly, including stabilizing and referring patients outside of standard specialty scope when necessary. Assist in covering other providers' patient schedules during unexpected absences and emergencies. Obtain or assist in collecting lab specimens when necessary, and interpret diagnostic imaging and test results to inform treatment plans. Engage in clinic quality improvement efforts and support quality assurance (QA) audits and reporting. Stay current with developments in podiatric medicine through continuing education and self-directed learning. Utilize sound medical judgment, remain compliant with ethical standards, and recognize personal limitations. Support a team-based approach to care, demonstrating flexibility and cooperation with clinical staff and administrative personnel. Adhere to all clinic policies, procedures, and standards of care. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of the principles and practice of preventive Knowledge of the state and federal laws pertaining to medicine and to community health Knowledge of the structure and function of community health Skill in communicating effectively with patients and their Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, patients and the general Minimum Qualifications Education and/or Equivalent Experience: Doctoral degree in Podiatric Medicine (DPM) from an accredited program. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Podiatric Medicine. Active license to practice in the State of California. Drug Enforcement Administration Registration Certification with current DEA registration Number.
