Job Title: Program Assistant 

Location: 7700 Congress Avenue, Suite 3212, Boca Raton, FL 33487 

Employment Type: Full-time, On-Site 

Salary: $30,000 to $42,000 per year 

About Us  

Roots and Wings is a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to improving children’s reading skills and supporting the teachers who inspire learning. We are seeking a Program Assistant to support and manage the daily operations of our programs and play a key role in ensuring organizational efficiency and program success.

Key Responsibilities  

Program & Operations Support  

• Coordinate logistics for Project UpLift and the Above and Beyond Awards 
• Drive to multiple school locations for site visits, celebrations, and meetings 
• Track program outcomes, gather and organize data, and assist with reporting 
• Maintain communication with school personnel and stakeholders 
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external reporting requirements 
• Organize and maintain both digital and physical records 

Financial & Data Management  

• Maintain and update program funding records, including tracking of funds 
• Analyze and report data with a high degree of accuracy 
• Ensure strict confidentiality of all data 

Software & Tools  

• Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) 
• Familiarity with scheduling tools such as Calendly 

Qualifications  

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in a nonprofit setting 
• Minimum 2 years of program support experience, preferably in a nonprofit or education-related organization 
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, as well as attention to detail 
• Strong written and verbal communication across diverse audiences 
• Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism 
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team 
• Passion for advancing children’s literacy and celebrating educators 

Preferred Skills  

• Familiarity with educational programs or student-focused initiatives 
• Creative problem-solving skills 
• Experience with small-scale event logistics 
• Ability to enthusiastically represent Roots and Wings and its mission
