Job Overview – Senior Fund Accountant (Private Equity): Compensation: $100,000 – $130,000/year Location: New York, NY Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office) Atlantic Group is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant (Private Equity) for our client in New York, NY. This in-office role manages accounting, financial reporting, and fund operations for private equity funds and investment vehicles. You’ll oversee closes, review fund administrator reports, support audits, and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP. Ideal for accounting professionals with public or fund experience, proficient in NetSuite and Excel. Responsibilities as the Senior Fund Accountant: Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and investor packages. Fund Accounting: Oversee month-end close, journal entries, allocations, and review fund administrator records for accuracy. Audit & Compliance: Coordinate year-end audits and tax filings, providing necessary documentation and support to auditors. General Ledger Management: Maintain reconciliations and schedules for key accounts, including cash, payables, and accruals. Technical Accounting: Research and apply accounting guidance, drafting memos on complex transactions and valuations. Qualifications for the Senior Fund Accountant: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required (CPA strongly preferred). Experience: 3-6 years of accounting experience, ideally in public or fund accounting with a focus on private equity, credit, or hedge funds. Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with preferred experience using NetSuite or comparable ERP systems. Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, limited partnership agreements, fund waterfalls, and private fund structures. Skills & Attributes: Analytical and detail-oriented professional with strong communication and problem-solving skills who thrives in a fast-paced, team environment.
