POSITION OVERVIEW

WCL Group is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day financial operations of our growing staffing and workforce solutions firm. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial records, timely processing of accounts payable and receivable, and supporting broader accounting and reporting functions across the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage full-cycle bookkeeping activities including:
    • Posting of receivables and payables
    • Invoice processing and journal entry management
    • Accurate classification and categorization of transactions
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including monthly bank reconciliations
  • Process and support semi-monthly payroll in coordination with HR
  • Assist CPA with financial documentation and tax-related tasks
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Ensure all records are maintained accurately and timely using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
  • Maintain and improve existing digital and physical filing systems
  • Respond to internal requests related to vendor payments, invoice tracking, and budget support
  • Support implementation of new financial tools, processes, or integrations as the company scales
  • Communicate with clients and contractors regarding timekeeping and invoicing issues

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong bookkeeping and financial recordkeeping experience
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks (Desktop and/or Online)
  • Knowledge of payroll processes and related tax implications
  • Experience in AP/AR and general accounting practices
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments
  • High ethical standards and professionalism
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Advanced computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in staffing or professional services industries
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Experience supporting CPAs or preparing materials for audits
